Spotlight Shoutout - M's Cute Creations

Michelle is the face of M's Cute Creations. She's a working mum of 2 small boys who loves to get creative in her spare time. Michelle also runs M's Cute Bottoms which stocks modern cloth nappies and toilet training products. 

For the Spring Showcase Michelle has submitted a girls size 4 set. The skirt is made from 100% quality quilters cotton featuring a red, black and white ladybug print, with a coordinating black and white polkadot band at the bottom. The skirt has an elastic waistband for comfort and fit. The white tshirt features a matching ladybug applique.

Michelle has gone with ladybugs to represent spring - every little girl loves finding ladybugs in the garden. This is a new item to the M's Cute Creations range and is $35 plus postage. Showcase Shoutout - Handmade By 3 Little B's

Handmade By 3 Little B’s offers an affordable range of cute and funky handmade designs for little girls and boys. These styles are made to enjoy and wear, having been tried, tested and approved by Mel's own Little B’s who love to live life up in the great outdoors!

Mel's contribution to the Spring Showcase is "Sweet Tweets" - a gorgeous Spring dress for your little girl featuring ruffled sleeves, a fully lined bodice and a round neckline that closes at the back with 3 handmade bird cage buttons. The main dress has a wide skirt with ruffles, and is high waisted. A fabric belt embellishes the high waist and is held in place by sewn in side belt loops. The finished length is 54cm from shoulder to bottom of hem. The pattern is courtesy of Lily Bird Studios, with adaptions to the sizing made by Mel, using "real life" little models.

Mel drew inspiration from Michael Miller's Tweet Tweet range of fabric to fit the "Spring" theme - the fresh, crisp design and bright colours, plus of course the sweet sound of birdsong in the morning fits the theme perfectly. And this sweet dress style just screams Sping-time parties.

Sweet Tweets is a one of a kind creation for the Spring Showcase, but the actual style of dress itself is part of the new range for Spring/Summer 2012/2013. This style of dress can be custom made from any of the 3 Little B's fabric range and is available from Size 0 through to Size 7 and $45.00 + $5.00 registered post. Custom orders can be placed by contacting Mel directly via the Facebook page. Mel loves one of a kind creations and therefore rarely duplicates items. 

Showcase Shoutout - Little Magnolia Button

Next we have Little Magnolia Button. Bridie is the face behind Little Magnolia Button and started it just after her daughter Imogen was born. Inspired by the things she was making for her daughter to wear and play with, she has gradually expanded her collection of items on offer. Bridie makes clothing, bibs, hats and soft toys, and her signature the use of bright, happy colours

Little Magnolia Button have made a shorts and t-shirt set in size 6-12 months for the Spring Showcase.  This set is a new design and is perfect for the warmer weather. The shorts are made from 100% quality quilters cotton and the organic tshirt features a super cute bird applique with ribbon beak and legs. The set comes with co-ordinating button hair ties. Bridie has chosen to use Caroline Gardner's "Songbird" fabric range to represent the "Spring" theme of the Showcase. It reminds her of the view from her sewing room, of the blossoming trees in the spring time, of the tiny, pretty flower

In the weeks following the Spring Showcase more sets will be available in various sizes and designs, including Christmas designs. Showcase Shoutout: My Obsession Designs

First off the block for our series on the amazing items in our Spring Showcase is My Obsession Designs! Tracey is a mum of 4 young children who loves to keep busy creating. She started My Obsession Designs as an outlet for her creative energy. She enjoys making beautiful yet practical items which are suitable for family life, in particular her homewares and bags are very popular.

Tracey's entry to the Spring Showcase is a fabric basket cube. Fabric baskets have been a hugely popular product for My Obsession. Previously these baskets have been rectangular in shape but the existing range is being expanded to include cubed/square baskets. The Spring Showcase basket is the first release of this new shape - the official launch is in the next few weeks. Measuring 15cm cubed, its made from 100% quality quilting cottons and is adorned with applique flowers in a 'daisy chain' design which encompasses the whole basket. The basket is fully lined with a sturdy fusible fleece fabric which gives the basket structure. It is retailing for $40 plus postage.

 

To fit with the "Spring" theme of the showcase Tracey has chosen pink tones and a gorgeous floral applique pattern. This basket would look adorable in a little girls room and would be a practical yet beautiful way to store small toys or other 'treasures.' This is a one-of-a-kind basket and the addition of the applique decoration is something new especially for the Showcase, but Tracey will look at doing more one-of-a-kind appliqued and embellished baskets in the future.
